Galmudug Electric Corporation – GECO, has a unique origin story that sets it apart in the energy industry of Somalia. GECO is a privately owned company founded in 2015 as a result of the merger of seven individual electricity-providing companies, operating independently to supply electricity for individuals, households, offices, business and other industries in the central regions Galmudug State of Somalia.

Galmudug Electric Corporation (GECO) ISO certified electricity supply company that Quality Assurance Management System – ISO 9001:2015; Environment Management System- ISO 14001:2015; Occupational Health & safety Management - ISO 45001:2018; Energy Management System - ISO 50001: 2018. GECO operates in 7 districts and other towns and villages of Galmudud regions, the Company expects to reach other districts and towns in the two regions to expand and cover all Galmudug and expand gradually to other regions of Somalia.
